RTOS/middleware: eParts

eParts eSOL's RTOS/middleware product group fulfills the needs of embedded system developers

Features & benefits

eParts is the product brand name of the realtime OS and middleware product group developed by eSOL for embedded systems. eSOL offers a variety of products in this group, including kernel, file system, network protocol stack, USB middleware, and more.

Portability

eParts products are written in the C language for improved portability to new environments. eParts is designed to be independent of the target environment. CPU- and OS-dependent code is isolated to ensure easy porting to new environments.

Scalability

In eParts, resources are configurable by system definition files and are only linked when actually using APIs, enabling a flexible system configuration. Choose only what you need to help minimize code size.

Provided in source code format

All eParts products are provided as source code and can be customized by the user.
*PictDirect is available in binary format.

Supports eBinder

eParts seamlessly operates with eBinder. From configuration through realtime display of eParts control information while executing the target, eBinder can improve the efficiency of application development with eParts.

eParts implementation example

With an increase in embedded system functionality and the growth of the Internet, a users' now commonly need to operate, manage, and maintain embedded systems remotely. Embedding PrHTTPD enables user control via a web browser. PrMAIL provides a method to report system status via Internet mail. PrSNMP enables a SNMP manager to monitor the status of a PrCONNECT/Pro-enabled device.

Memory cards are increasingly used for exchanging data between embedded devices and PCs. Adding PrFILE2 and a memory card driver achieves this easily. Also, instead of mounting a memory card slot directly to the board, a USB card reader/writer can be connected to simplify maintenance or to improve the device's form factor. Or you can use USB to transfer data to a PC to update part of the system for maintenance.
